Hello
My love of renovation and house flipping led me to a career as a licensed REALTOR® more than 10 years ago. With a discerning eye for discovering “diamonds in the rough” as well as hidden profits in a good investment, I provide unique value to my clients. It’s my favourite aspect of both buying and selling homes. By helping people add value to their current home before a sale and finding their next “home sweet home”, I am also helping them increase their wealth and financial security.
I view my career as both a passion and a responsibility; I am there for my clients every step of the way, helping them to manage what is generally the biggest investment in their lifetime. When I was growing up, my father was a banker and we moved around a fair bit. It taught me the importance and benefit of a realtor’s expertise in both buying and selling a home. Trust me to be your expert ally on your next venture.
Why Halifax?
A city with a small town feel, Halifax is teeming with history, beautiful architecture, music, arts, shopping, restaurants, and stunning natural vistas.
It is also home to diverse communities populated with warm and friendly ‘Maritimers’. Whether your family has lived here for generations or you are a ‘come-from-away’, you’ll breathe in the sea air and feel welcome here!
Giving Back
I am a proud supporter of Alice Housing through its partnership with Royal Lepage Atlantic and as part of the national Royal Lepage Shelter Foundation. I donate part of each commission cheque I receive to this worthy cause. My contributions consistently place me within the top 25% of the Foundation’s supporters nationally. In 2015 alone, the Royal Lepage Shelter Foundation raised more than $2.3 million for women in need.
On a More Personal Note
Beyond qualifications, experience and approach, I understand that it’s important that you know a little bit more about the person you are trusting with the sale and/or purchase of your home. After all, it’s a very ‘Maritime’ way to do business. So here is a little more about me:
- Although I was born in Moncton, NB, I’ve never lived there. However, I have lived in various New Brunswick communities from Saint John to Fredericton to Bath and Quispamsis. My family is actually from PEI, and I visit my extended family there during the summer every year. For a time, I also called Calgary and Toronto home. But, I have lived in Halifax since 2000, making it officially, by far, the place I have called home the longest. It must be doing something right!
- In addition to my REALTOR® license, I hold a business degree from University of New Brunswick and a diploma in graphic design from New Brunswick Community College.
- I am also an avid curler. I have been at it for almost 15 years now, and have recently started curling competitively at the club level. I most recently played third on a team that won the Metro Halifax Day Ladies bonspiel! I enjoy both the physical and mental challenge of the sport often referred to as “chess on ice”. I also enjoy the competitiveness, camaraderie and “sociable” aspects as well.
- Whether it’s simply selecting paint colours or contracting larger projects, I LOVE renovating my own homes, client homes, friends’ homes, and even friends’ parents’ homes. One of my clients moved out of their home for a week and returned to a brand new bathroom “reveal”! I had selected all the finishes and worked with the contractor to complete the project on time and on budget. I also work with clients as a consultant, reviewing plans, quotes and estimates to ensure they understand everything and are comfortable with the whole process. No job is too big or too small, I enjoy them all.
